We have an incredible variety of DOGS, non-profits organizations, generous sponsors, local merchants, kid’s activities, and the BEST volunteers

ENJOY!

Every year, hundreds of people participate in Harbor Hounds with dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds. Or, maybe we should say, hundreds of dogs participate with people of all shapes, sizes and breeds.

Harbor Hounds is a day of fun with neighbors, family and your furry best friend and also give back to the community by supporting The Rotary Club of Gig Harbor Midday community outreach projects and grants. Vendor Scavenger Hunt, non-profits and merchant tents, food trucks, games, demonstrations, raffles, games, activities, temporary tattoos, and the ever-popular Dog Contests where you can Show off your pups’ talent! The Dog Contests is a crowd favorite, presided over by our esteemed judge, Mayor Mary Barber! We have contests and prizes for the kids too. Donations Welcome! Woof!!

Participate as an event sponsor, a booth vendor, an event participant, or all three! There is fun for everyone. Woof! 

EVENT SCHEDULE

9:30am – Cashier & VIP Cashier Line Opens

10:00am – 2:00pm Vendor Booths Open

10:30am Raffle Tent Opens

10:15am – 2:30pm Vendor Scavenger Hunt

2:00pm – Raffle Winners Posted*

2:25pm – Vendor Scavenger Hunt Winner Announced*

2:30pm – 2:45pm – Dog Contests with the Mayor

3:00pm – Close of Harbor Hounds 2025

Online Auction Closes at 3:00pm Sunday

Event Elements and Definitions

“Visit the Vendors” Scavenger Hunt
  • Complimentary Scavenger Hunt card for all guests
  • Visit vendor and merchant booths to learn about our local offerings
  • Collect a stamp at each booth.
  • Collect 20 stamps and drop in the Scavenger Hunt boxes located at The Pup Tent no later than 2:30pm
  • Valid entries include a name, phone number and email address
  • Grand Prize valued at over $100
  • Winner announced and posted at the close of the event. Need not be present to win; winners will be contacted and have seven days post-event to collect prizes. (No cash value. Unclaimed prizes will go to the next fundraiser.)
 
Raffle
  • Tickets: $5 each or 5 for $20
  • Drop tickets into the prize buckets of your choice
  • Winners posted at 2:00 PM
  • Pick up between 2:30 PM -4:00 PM or at scheduled pick up event 
  • Need not be present to win; winners will be contacted and have seven days post-event to collect prizes. Pick up location will be provided.
 
Food Vendors
  • Separate from the event offerings and require cash/card at time of purchase

  • Merchandise: A variety of puppy memorabilia and more

  • Puppy Adoption (Selection of Stuffed Puppies, with adoption papers and carrying “crate”)
  • Accepts both cash and credit card donations.
  • Suggested donation amounts are posted.
 
Entertainment
  • Live DJ and event emcee entertain event-goers throughout the day
  • Stage entertainment and presentations
  • Demonstrations and kids’ contests

  • Raffle and scavenger hunt winner announcements
  • Dog Contest segment presided over by Mayor Mary Barber

Fundraiser
  • Event Goal: $20,000
  • 100% of event proceeds go to our beneficiaries and grants!
  • Proceeds fund Gig Harbor Midday Rotary’s community relief projects.
  • The Rotary Club of Gig Harbor Midday projects are overseen by the Midday Charity Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization (EIN: 47-4592410). Donations are tax-deductible.
